Short Biography


Architect licensed in USA. Registered in the state of New York, Principal of the company “Diego Aguilera Architects P.C.” Graduated in Urbanism and Architecture at the University of “Los Andes, Bogota, with Masters in Architectonic Design of “PRATT Institute” NY.

Former professor of Theory, History of the Architecture and Architectural Design in the “Universidad del Valle” and ”Universidad de San Buenaventura, located in Cali Colombia, Invited as a Professor to the “International Workshop” in Cartagena Colombia, organized by the “Universidad de los Andes”. Has performed as a substitute professor of the Design 201 Studio D (Livio Dimitriu) at PRATT Institute NYC, an as a jury and lecturer invited in universities of Florida, New Jersey and New York.

Former Director of the magazine “Architecture”, former coordinator of the "Doctor's office of Architecture", and Director of Degree Work's at the USB. First Director of the "Museum of Railroad History" in Cali Colombia.

Has been winner of several contests, nationals and international, his projects and essays have been published in magazines and publications in EE.UU., Europe and Colombia.

President Founder of the “Colombian Architects Society of NY, Ex-president of PECX, Director National of NACAO, Ex-coordinator of the Colombian Coalition of NY. NJ, CT. & PA. Advisor of the National Council CAUSA.

He has participated in projects of great format around the world, between which they distinguish “White Hall Terminal Ferry” in Manhattan, project of Robert Venturi and CASSA Hotel of Enrique Norten. It has worked mainly like Architect of Projects in the last 20 years in the large format  companies of Manhattan, and it is defined as a Regional Rationalist Architect, its thought has shaped it in tens of article and contests as well as some projects of its authorship.
